This magical evening started with tears as I dragged my poor, overly photographed child out past 8 pm to capture the sun setting. We drove out Scholls Ferry Road hoping to capture a barn in the background and thirty minutes later finally pulled into a church parking lot overlooking a beautiful wheat field and the perfect barn. After the tears dried, we danced, sang and played in those magical fields together. She is part silly, part serious and filled to the brim with the ability to create an imaginative world where I could set up camp and stay forever. She is my Lucy.
I don't know how to adequately express my love for this little girl. With each year, month, day and breath she fills my life and heart with so much joy and love that I simply melt into a puddle of tears. I know I can not slow the eternally ticking clock, but I can savor these precious moments and try my best to capture them in a way in which I can look back and remember.
