Little Lucy has spent the last month or two, immersed in all things Oz. It started with an adapted children's book based on the original story by L. Frank Baum. She couldn't get enough. We read more adaptations and eventually read the entire first book! We watched movies, we listened to the original soundtrack, we reenacted the story many times over. The Portland Children's Museum even has a current exhibit that is all about Oz. She walked the yellow brick road, hopped on the Wicked Witch's bicycle and climbed through her castle. She even met Glinda and her friends tonight on Halloween Eve! Naturally, Lucy chose Dorothy for her costume this year and mom and dad eagerly joined in as the Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion. I love how this magical story took hold of our Lucy's imagination. I wish each of you a magical Halloween and hope that your imagination takes you to new and wondrous places!

I think I fall a little in love with the kids that I photograph, and these three are no exception. This family knows how to have fun and we spent a beautiful fall day at Champoeg State Park playing and laughing. I taught first grade with Cindy my very first year when her oldest daughter was just a baby! Now they have three beautiful children and it was such a pleasure to meet the whole crew!
The rainy season is in full swing here, in Oregon. As a photographer who prefers to shoot outdoors, this saddens me a bit. Yesterday wrapped up my first Fall mini session. The rain disappeared and even the sun decided to make an appearance. Summer Lake Park was the perfect location for this beautiful couple and their adventuresome little boy! I have so much fun working with little boys who are so ready to tromp around, explore and have a good time. This little guy did not disappoint!
I always enjoy the opportunity to get together with one of my very favorite families. This mama happens to be a good friend of mine and the last time I featured her family on my blog, their youngest member was a teeny, tiny newborn. Well, check her out now! This little miss is walking and full of delightful smiles. I so enjoy watching this beautiful family grow up and hope you do too.
Fall in Oregon is simply gorgeous and it seems extra vibrant and colorful this year. I was delighted to meet up with the Bernard family at Laurelhurst Park. This family has such a great sense of fun and adventure that is evident by their pictures. Enjoy your sneak peak!
My very fist set of mini sessions EVER were truly a great experience! However, at the last minute, we changed locations for the first family for fear of rain. Luckily, the weather ended up being fabulous and the Hoyt Arboretum is such a lovely fall site for a family session. I couldn't have asked for better mini models. These two kiddos were full of smiles and so willing to follow directions - how dreamy, right? Just take a look and you'll see what I mean!
Visiting the pumpkin patch is one of my favorite fall activities. There is something beautiful about tromping through the mud in a sea of orange, in search of the perfect pumpkin. Our Little Lucy is having so much fun this season preparing for Halloween. It is my absolute favorite holiday and I spend most of the year dreaming up costumes for the whole family. Here's to wishing everyone out there a very spooky and happy Halloween!
