Our weather is finally starting to warm up in the Pacific Northwest, however, the month of April was long and rainy. This sunny studio session was meant to cheer me up and capture a few spring portraits of my little loves. Our little mister is 1 1/2 years this month and his big sister turns 6 in a few short months. They grow too fast and I am so thankful for these precious moments to look back and remember when... Now is the time to get outside and book your family spring/summer sessions. I am still limited to only a few sessions per month, so plan ahead and book soon!
Each time I have the honor of photographing a new baby, I fall a little bit in love. I am in awe of their newness, the tiny fingers and toes. It is easy to see that this beautiful, baby girl is surrounded by love. Welcome to the world Emilia!
I haven't blogged about my own kids in a while now (keeping up with two means that I am busy ALL the time!) We made it back to the Tulip Festival this year. No rain, a lot of mud and the blooms weren't quite in their full glory yet. However, we had a great day whooping it up on the Cow Train, watching Lucy enjoy all of the activities and letting Gabe run wild in the tulip fields. After a very cold and rainy winter, I am in extra awe of the beauty that Spring brings to Oregon.
You can't tell it from the photographs, but we spent over an hour just getting this beautiful little miss to step away from her mama. However, by the time we rolled out the cake, she knew exactly what to do and wasn't shy at all about delighting in everything there is to love about birthday cake. Here in Portland, Oregon we are finally starting to see a few days without the drizzle, however a studio session is always a safe bet during our rainy season. I am dreaming about getting outside to photograph your families and now is the time to start booking spring/summer sessions. Contact me soon to reserve a spot!
The last time I met with this sweet family, their youngest was just a baby! Since then, they moved to Denver and now back to Oregon again. I am so glad they asked me out to their "farm" to tromp around. This session is exactly what I love most about photography. Getting to capture the everyday moments in their happy place, where they feel most comfortable - their home! And the best part was, we were able to hang out inside while it rained and zip outside for a few shots when the drizzle stopped for a minute or two.
After rescheduling this shoot due to rain, we lucked out with gorgeous skies and plenty of late afternoon sunshine. I had the opportunity to photograph this young man's older sister a few years ago and now it is Ian's turn to shine! He was a dream to photograph and as you can see, a model-worthy subject. As with many high school guys, these pictures are mostly for his mother, but I think there are a few that Ian will like too. This handsome guy is ready to tackle some college ball next year as he transitions onward to the next part of his journey. Best wishes for an excellent senior year Ian!
This beautiful family welcomed a new baby girl this year! I always enjoy capturing family photos for them each year and this session was extra special. Evie is already 6 months old and enjoying life with her adorable big brother and their loving parents. We spent the evening capturing photos around their house and down the street at a neighborhood park.
I love that my first session back after having my baby was photographing a newborn. I am reminded how quickly they grow and change and Emma entered the world so very tiny, weighing in under 6 pounds! I am always so honored when families allow me to cuddle their precious new babies. I loved every minute of working with this sweet family. Enjoy your sneak peek!
After a scorching summer in the Pacific Northwest, I think most of us are more than ready for the cooler weather, bundling up in sweaters and even the relief that rain will bring. I knew when Kelli messaged me that I had to fit this sweet family into our labor day weekend plans for one more family session before I hunker down and focus on the last few weeks before my own bundle of love is due to join us.
The last time I saw this handsome little man he was only a few days old and entered the world a few weeks early. I love the opportunity to watch these babies grow up. I think you will agree that the colors this family chose for their fall portraits are perfect. I am ready to curl up with a good book and watch the leaves change color. Happy Fall!
Our family spent an amazing week vacationing in Yachats this summer with my mom, both of my brothers and my older brother's family. My sweet Lucy adores her big boy cousins (and they are really, really big with the older two towering at six feet tall or more!) We saw a lot of sea life, played in the sand and just enjoyed some time together. My oldest Nephew started his senior year in Castle Rock, CO a few weeks ago and I was honored to capture a few senior portraits for him while we were together at the beach. I became an Auntie when this young man was born and he has matured into such an amazing, handsome and kind individual. I can't wait to see where his next adventure will take him and I couldn't be more proud. Auntie loves you!
